Hello, Yorkshire Village!
We want to thank everyone for their patience, I have heard from many of you during the summer each time another storm came through with the status of the HOA tree maintenance project. This was not an easy process by any means but we have finally were able to compile a comprehensive list of trees within the open space areas that encompass the HOA and went out to bid. The selected vendor on this project is Princeton Tree Care, who is set to start this project on Monday, October 2nd, weather permitting.
Attached** are the areas that were identified by the arborists during our inspections as requiring priority maintenance. This summer has brought this project to a different level behind all the heavy storms, wind and rain events that occurred which changed the conditions of many of the trees. As a reminder, the HOA is NOT removing 100% of the trees in the wooded open spaces. The woods were there when you purchased your homes and you will continue to have woods. The HOA is maintaining trees that are presenting issues of risk by falling or breaking onto homes. The trees that are included in this will not be removed from the woods after they're maintained, they'll be dropped into the woods to become further habitat for wildlife, which is a requirement.
What has changed from the original plan on this project is it was initially going to be a phased process over multiple seasons. However, behind the inspections and the current state of the trees in question they do pose a risk and must be dealt with in one comprehensive project this year. After this large scale project is completed, the HOA will then be on a regular maintenance schedule for any future grooming needs in the open spaces. Attached please find the locations identified and confirmed as being at risk.
