Trash & Recycling Schedules AND Tips!

Updated: Aug 30, 2020

Lawrence Township Public Works garbage and recycling pick-up days vary across the township depending on the zone of your street address.

Trash

Regular collection

All of Yorkshire Village is in ZONE 1 with trash pick up on Fridays. Pick up typically can begin at 7AM, so please be sure to place carts or bulk waste at the curb by that time. Per the township, garbage should NOT be placed for collection earlier than 5:00 P.M of the day prior to the scheduled collection. Trash receptacles should be removed from the street within forty-eight (48) hours of garbage collection.

Holiday Collection (New Years Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, & Christmas Day)

When a holiday falls on Monday, collection normally scheduled will be the Saturday before the holiday.

Bulk Waste Pick-Up Bulk waste will be picked up on your regular collection day. Bulk waste consists of items to be discarded which are too large to fit into your township issued blue cart. The exceptions are "white goods" such as washers, dryers, refrigerators and other bulky material too large to fit in the garbage truck's "hopper". You can contact the Public Works Dept. to schedule a pick up or obtain additional information - contact Gregory Whitehead, Director of Public Works, email: whitehead@lawrencetwp.com. Additional regulations for Bulky Waste pickup can be found here.

The Cart Each cart has a serial number that corresponds to your address. The cart is the property of the Township and remains behind for the new resident should you move from your current location.

Recycling

Regular collection of Paper - Plastic - Glass Recycling is picked up every other Monday. If Monday falls on a holiday, the pickup is the following Saturday.

Schedule for 2018:

If recycling is missed or additional yellow and green cans are needed, please call the Public Works Department at 609-587-1894. For additional recycling schedule information and items to recycle visit MCIA website., see here and here.

*Please remember to pack your recycling securely, as the wind can knock over recycling bins and recyclables which liter the streets. In the event that your recyclables become dispersed in the streets or open area, you will be responsible for picking it up.
