Clearing Snow & Ice From Sidewalks During The Winter

As we have entered into the winter months, snow and freezing temperature that result in icy grounds may be soon in sight. Please keep in mind that the sidewalks that are in front of your house and on the side, if you are on a corner, are your responsibility as the homeowner to clear and salt (or treat with "Ice Melt").

Per the Lawrence Township website (see here): Township ordinance [#378] requires that owners, occupants and tenants of property which abut a sidewalk are responsible for removing snow or ice from the sidewalk. A path must be cleared to a width of 24 inches and must be cleared within 24 hours from the time that the snow event ended or the ice formed.

Be advised that the township WILL issue a costly violation to you if your area is not cleared, as experienced by some homeowners last winter.

Most importantly, please make sure you clear your sidewalk, as obstructions create a safety hazard for children who need to walk to the school bus stops.

If you are traveling during the winter months and won' t be able to maintain your sidewalks, please let the management office know so that steps can be taken to clear your area if it snows; they will put you into communication with the vendor that handles the common areas, who will issue a separate bill to you. If you have any additional questions regarding this, you can reach out to Tricie Kohut at tkohut@tmkmgt.com.

Additional information:

*Update as of 12/11/17: Per Tricie Kohut of our management office, the development's snow vendor is unable to take on additional requests due to their current demands at this time. Tricie has recommended Homeadvisor.com as a resource for snow removal vendors, as this is the site TMK Management uses when looking for new vendors.
